Wendys in Salt Lake City, Utah - Disgusted with service and treatment Evanston Wyoming

my husband and I went to Wendy's and ordered when we got to the window to pay the MANAGER took our card (first thing I noticed was how greasy her hair was and how dirty she looked) she handed my husband a recipet to sign and he simply asked for his card back and his recipet and told her he would give her hers once he had his card and verified the price so his card wasn't double swiped like has happened before there several years ago she argued with him and wouldn't do the simple thing he asked after about five minutes she finally gave my husband his card and he gave her her copy once he looked at the prices. we waited for twenty minutes and they kept telling us that they were waiting on our fries several times while there were numerous customers behind us getting their food. soon two cops cars pulled up behind us and told us to get out of the car they told us the woman had reported a stolen card. they verified the card was my husband's and told us they were very sorry and informed us that she was supposed to ask for our ID if she suspected anything when we told her she had not done that. they went and got our food and it was cold and the order was wrong. we will not be going back there again because of the service and the lack of hygiene practiced by the "manager"

Wendy's has really gone downhill over the last couple of years. The one by our house is filthy and the last time I was there with my kids, two employees got into a loud nasty argument and were screaming f-bombs at each other in front of the whole place. Filthy and classless.

Are you too lazy to walk in and get a correct order? Going into Wendys and using a credit card is low!!!!!!

Have you ever heard of cash? :grin :grin :grin :grin :grin :grin :grin :grin

What does the manager's appearance have to do with the rest of your complaint. Are you aware that some people have naturally oily hair, which is hard to keep looking clean for several hours, when they have been working a job where they have probably been sweating like everything.

The same goes to appearing dirty, things get spilled, etc. Have you heard of using plain old fashioned cash when paying at drive ups?

Wendys in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Ms. juanita

I ordered a large strawberry milk shake and they handed me a large strawberry tea and i told her i didn't order that and she had a huge attitude and kept arguing when i wasn't even saying anything honestly. So i said can you give me the shake and take the juice back and i will pay the difference.she said fine and gave me the shake but charged me for both. And i feel as if i was disrespected because i go there alot. And that shows that they are rude and very disrespectful. I am very upset and i will not ever go there again. I am a good costumer.

Wendys in Livonia, Michigan - Non edible food, bad service, dinning room over run with unsafe customers

Late night after work I went through drive thru. Hamburger was cold, leather like, old, fries were hard like a brick, dark brown, it was obvious they were the ones to be thrown out. The mini frost with the card was soupy, running, and the cup was only half full. The dinning room was open, but was over run with middle easterners, who let you know you were not welcome in their territory. At every Wendy's I receive cold, brown, old fries and a cooked, warm, fresh hamburger is a luxury. It doesn't matter what city I happen to be in at the time. Since the owner died the quality of food and service have gone to the bottom of the barrel. If I go there it is a toss up on whether I'm going to receive an "advertise" meal and service. They can keep their coupons. They need to put that money and effort into customer service and food quality training. Maybe if they did, they would not be closing stores all around town. Quality and pricing will survive any economic down turn. Guest Dave forgot to teach that to Wendy and his employees or more likely he did, but they just didn't listen.

Wendys in Saginaw, Michigan - Frosty Shake

I went there often to eat and included a frosty shake with my meal....the last time I was there an employee made a comment on how they hated having to make those shakes. This past week every time I go through the take out, and try to order a shake, the employee giggles and tells me the frosty shake machine that makes the caramel vanilla shakes is broken...she then offers chocolate, smirks and giggles. Ridiculous and abusive by this employee because the same machine is used to mix the chocolate and the vanilla shakes...she is an *** and her manager is abusive to allow this ignorance.

This isn't abuse to you in any shape or form. Maybe it is something in your attitude that brings on this behavior from the employees.

They do have separate machines for the Frostys and separate one for the shakes. The Frostys and the shakes are completely different. I don't understand what the difference is other than choice of flavors. My young daughter works in a Wendy's and I just asked her about it.

In the Frostys you can only get vanilla and chocolate.

The shakes have several flavors. You sound awfully childish, yourself.

I work at Wendy's and can tell you that you're wrong. The same machine is used for but chocolate and vanilla all it does is mixes it up!!!

Wendys in Charlotte, North Carolina - Rude District Manager

Had issue on 4/6. DM/franchise never called me back and I called a few times to get them to talk to me and finally the DM calls me today, yelled at me, told me to shut the *** up (multiple times), refused to refund my money and go to Chik-fila and he was secure is job so he didn't care who I called. because he was friends with everyone in the whole company. ***!! Chick-fila here I come!!!! At least there I stand a better chance of getting good service and not get yelled on and told to shut the *** up!

I have not eaten Wendy's in quite sometime for numerous reasons. Unfortunately, I purchased a cheeseburger and fry's today. I have never had to eat out of a trash can before but this must be what it taste like. I still can not get that nasty horrible taste to go away...

Wendys in Centennial, Colorado - Never thought a fresh burger could be so cold

Update by user May 12, 2013

site is asking me for update. there is nothing to update except to reiterate the fact that i will never step in or drive thru another wendy's as long as i live.

nobody gets a second chance to ruin a meal for me.

there are way too many other places to give a try. if any restaurant cannot be consistent with their advertisements, they don't deserve the business.

Original review posted by user Apr 11, 2013

went 15 minutes before closing time and was told the fryer was having trouble so no chicken could be made. (don't we all know that's just a ploy to get out earlier because so many use this lame excuse only near closing time)so i order up a regular single hamburger. this took a few mins. so i thought it would be good and hot. i got back to work (4 blocks away) and it was so cold, it felt like it was out of a refrigerator. seriously the meat was every bit as cold as the veggies and the bun too! oh and it had cheese not at all melted or even ordered. i have had unsatisfactory servings before from fast food chains but this was of an unacceptable nature that makes wendy's forever off limits to me. i can never go back after that so i am not interested in coupons or any compensation but i sure would love to have my money back from that!

So you don't think the employees in fast food places or other restaurants should start shutting down their equipment a few minutes early, so that they can get out at the end of their shifts. These companies do this so that the employees don't get paid for extra time.

Even if the employee doesn't get enough time in to get overtime pay, a few minutes here and there add up for the employer. Of course in order to make people like you happy so that you can order whatever you want at any odd time of the day or night, they could wait until they are closed to shut down all the equipment, they could increase their prices. As far as the rest of your complaint goes, everybody knows that is a fib. Wendy's never has their sandwiches or fries made ahead of time.

They are prepared as they are ordered. So quit adding to your ridiculous complaint and grow up.

Wendys in Kenner, Louisiana - Maybe they hate me?

There is a Wendy's i go to almost every weekend when I am at work. I take care of a group of men with dd and we're always in a van so l'm assuming they recognize us. We always have a large order usually consisting of items on the value menu. We wait parked towards the front of the store on almost every visit since the food is never ready. A few months ago i decided I would like to try the combos that are more expensive. I loved the homestyle chicken filet. The fries of course were apparently fried in dirry oil as always amd why can't they get the syrup mix right on the soda? Anyway because of the delicious sandwich I'd had I kept going there. I ordered my homestyle chicken once again but as I bit into it I realized that they had given me the dollar crispy chicken. I called to complain and I went there to return the remainder ofit and get a new sandwich. When i got there they handed it to me and said but it really was the homestyle. I would know better, I've had them enough. Well Id given up on them for awhile . 7.62 is way too much to pay for the cheap stuff. But i was craving a square burger today. I went back and ordered a number one expecting the quality and attention they pay to the more expensive sandwiches but bread was stale. Oh well.

Boy, your life must be lonely and completely un-filled with much of anything if this is your biggest complaint in life. Perhaps you should just go elsewhere??? :cry

There is no need to complain about the food not being ready when you get there, if you are talking about take out. Call ahead and tell them how many of each item you need and what time you will be there and they should have the order ready.

I used to work in fast food and we had buses call in and tell us everything they needed and what time they would arrive and we had the order ready to go.

I highly doubt that the fries were cooked in dirty oil, the oil gets changed on a regular basis. You have way too many complaints to be taken seriously.

Wendys in Pineville, North Carolina - Rocket Science - NOT

This is the 3rd time that I have visited this location in less than a month and have had nothing but problems. I have spoken with corporate and the local management and they keep promising me that they won't keep messing up (I have had some really nasty problems at this location). After the last one (@3/15/13) I spoke to the district manager who sent a gift card to replace what I spent and a whopping $10 bucks to come back... Yeah I'm gonna take care of equals $10... Whatever. I finally went back yesterday and they interupted me when I was giving them my order, didn't get the correct (or just made what they wanted) and yelled at me in the drive thru. The manager of this location even recognized me and then went and tried to hide instead of making sure it was right. The whole order was wrong... Since when is a baconator single pattie come without bacon? Spicy chicken nuggets come with out spicy (and probably chicken lol)... The only thing that got right was the drink. They never even asked what size of combo, just did what they wanted... I called the district manager because he said to call him directly with any problems, I did and he completey blew me off... I am over it! I just went to a different location (owned by the same group on Monday 4/1) and they had no trouble... so I have to assume that this location is the problem and no one gives a *** about fixing it... I will never eat there again no matter how many gift card they try and give me. Three strikes you are out....

My bf and I wanted a quick snack last night, so we swung through the drive-thru and ordered 2 Junior Hamburgers with only lettuce, tomato and pickle. Quite possibly one of the easiest orders to make, it was still messed up because no tomatoes were added. We went back...

I'm sorry, but seriously? I understand that you're pissed that they messed up the order, that's totally valid. But being pissed that they attempted to correct their mistake by giving you the missing tomato AND that you only got '2 sad looking slices of tomato' isn't valid at all. There are a few things wrong with this.

First, it is against Wendy's [& I'm sure every other restaurant] policy to take back a sandwich they have already given to a customer & add anything to it because it can contaminate it, as per health code. This is the reason they gave you tomatoes in a separate container for you to add yourself. So unless you expected them to make you brand new sandwiches, just to add a lone tomato to each, than this was the best that they could do. Unless it is a sauce that was mistakenly left off or put on, it is completely normal for them to give you pickles, onions, lettuce, or tomatoes in a separate container, so they can avoid wasting product & avoid contaminating the product you already have. If you wanted the sandwiches completely remade, you could have said something & they would have done it - but you didn't, so they followed protocol.

Second, junior-size burgers [actually, all of Wendy's sandwiches] only come with ONE tomato. So they gave you the amount you were supposed to get: one per sandwich. If you want more tomato, you ask for it. The workers can't read your mind, & they'll just do as they were trained, which is one tomato per sandwich.

Basically, all of your complaints [aside from the fact that they messed up your order in the first place, which was an honest mistake considering that Junior burgers typically come with ketchup, pickle, onion, & mustard] are uncalled for. They're simply a matter of you not knowing [or caring] about the protocol they have or the fact that they followed it to a T. At least the worker who made the mistake DID realize it, & likely apologized to you for it or you wouldn't have mentioned it in your account that he 'realized his mistake'. I also don't see anywhere in this account where anyone treated you poorly or dismissed you. They attempted to fix the problem, & in as timely of a manner of they could - considering that you were in drive thru, your statement that they took '10 minutes' to help you is completely ludicrous, as there are timers at the windows & times must be below a certain amount of seconds per company policy. PRO TIP: If you have a problem with an order, park your car & take it INSIDE the store. You will only frustrate employees when you're backing up the drive-thru for a minor mistake. Going in will likely make the process faster & easier to take care of.

My last piece of advice is this - just because someone works in fast food or any other entry-level job doesn't mean they're Shi**y people with no feelings or motivation to be good at their job. The golden rule in life is to treat people how you want to be treated. If you want to get good service & good food in a timely manner by a friendly employee, than BE NICE to them. Fast-food workers are forced to give the customer everything they want because the 'customer is always right'. Don't take advantage of that just because you can.

Verification that I know what I'm talking about: I worked at two separate Wendy's between 2006 & 2012 to get through high school & college.
